So after a year of starting my blog - I’m finally getting round to properly getting on with it and writing something at least every week. For far too long I have been procrastinating about what to write. I always seem to have writers block - when I don’t need to blog or tweet I have millions of things jumping around in my head, yet the moment I come to put pen to paper - or fingers to keys - words seem to fail me! I think that now it is pyschological so today I’m just getting on with it!
I can’t believe that we have been going for nearly two years now. It’s been a tough time out there but we are still very much here and enjoying things even more than when we started. Our ideas and creativity have grown and we have so many more things now. We’ve met some amazing people along the way and made loads of new friends. We love this part of the job - continually being approached by incredibly talented people who just want to know if we’d like to sell their beautiful products. Clearly we don’t just take on anyone’s things but the ones that are right for our shop we give a go.
We’ve recently brought in some hand-crafted wooden items, including bookends and hand carved animals from Carol Ridler, which have been incredibly popular already. You never know how things are going to sell until you give them a go but these were something really different for us and now we’re very glad that we tried!
In the same vein, we thought we’d have a go at some leather items - namely little zip purses, wallets, and passport cases in bright, bold striking colours. They have been really popular over the summer months and now we’re hoping that with the Christmas buying season imminently approaching, they’ll make nice little stocking fillers.
With another trade fair to visit this weekend we’re now on the lookout for other new things leading up to Christmas!

So it’s been a while since I last wrote an entry because we’ve been really busy gearing up for the festive season and making sure we have lots of gorgeous things for all you lovely people. Most of the Christmas things are all here now so its very exciting beginning to get all the new things out on display. Cashmere socks were a real winner last year so I’m pleased to say we have more colours to choose from this year and more of them!
